If you would like to donate money to charity, support artists, have a good laugh, and get me a gift all the same time, you could buy me one of these:
horde, fuzzy, cuddly
Its a one-of-a-kind drawing of a robot or monster from robotsandmonsters.org. This site allows you to donate money for an original work of art (robot or monster illustration) which is inspired by three words of your choosing. Then, an illustrator will interpret your three words to create your drawing. You get the original drawing in the mail and a percentage of your donation goes to the artist and another percentage goes to support charity. The charity changes once a year and currently it is Doctors Without Borders. You can see all the whoosies and
whatsies rules here.
Below are a few of my favorite illustrations and the 3 words or phrases that inspired them:
pirate ship, stars, marmot
blue, hungry, dog
cute, pink, plumpy
tall, archeologist, adventurous
ocean, soup, engagement ring
If you're into collecting art or supporting artists, I highly recommend you checking this out. For the extremely reasonable price of $50 (for high-quality original artwork), you could be the new owner of your very own customized creature!
